Job Description

TRADING OPERATIONS SPECIALIST

As an Operations Specialist, you will be a part of the company's Clearing and Settlements Team. You will be responsible for the completing various parts of the daily settlement process for the US Fixed Income business. As part of this process, you will complete reconciliation of trade settlement positions and transactions, report discrepancies, and may recommend corrective actions. This position reports to the Director of Operations and interacts with various stakeholders both inside and outside the organisation.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Process client electronic trade files
• Interact daily with clients, counterparties, NAV, Treasury, Collateral teams
• Resolution of trade breaks
• Compile and finalize valuations on a daily basis
• Resolve daily reconciliation break-sheets
• Fulfil any additional / ad hoc duties as required to meet the needs of the business.
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
SKILLS:
• Basic understanding of the financial services industry
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; Word and Excel required
• Ability to handle a wide variety of tasks in a growing and fast paced environment
• Mature, self initiating individual with strong organizational skills and customer appreciation
• Ability to work independently

 

KEYS: 

 BA/BS degree in Business, Finance or Economicspreferred

  • Advanced excel skills

  • A passion to learn the industry
  • Math Degree preferred
  • Grad level experience – Willing to bring a May 2018 grad
  • Flexibility with working hours
  • Able to work autonomously
  • Clearing and Settlements internship, a plus
