Job Description

TECHNICAL PROJECT MANAGER

Our client, a company in software development in the healthcare industry is looking for a Technical Project Manager (TPM) that will monitor and enforce the Software Development Process to assure the on time, on budget delivery of high quality software to our clients.  The TPM reports to the Technology Department Head.

Responsibilities

      • Coordinate software development projects from a process perspective

      • Track and ensure that VA’s Software Development Process  is followed on all projects  

      • Ensure progress checkpoints and deliverable deadlines are met on all projects

      • Coordinate all communication between Digital Producers and Technical Development

      • Ensure Development Leads are aware of timing for Technical Reviews

      • Communicate development team requests for information or resources as needed

      • Identify and raise any perceived gaps in capacity, capability or performance to the Head of Technology

      • Track and work to clear all issues – immediately raise all blocking issues to the Head of Technology

      • Work with the BA to refine all incoming requirements for developer consumption

      • Assign/Refine Jira tickets as needed to maintain an accurate backlog and issue track

      • Maintain, monitor and report on the Jira development back log

      • Moderate sprints, process, and progress meetings and assist the Digital Producers in resource allocation

      • Communicate project status or changes to the Dev Team, Digital Project Managers, and the Head of Technology as needed

      • Monitor and assist in the effective handoff of information and assets into and out of the development team

Requirements

      • 5 or more years SDLC project management experience

      • Experienced in Waterfall and Agile software development

      • Strong knowledge of Jira for Agile project management

      • Strong technical documentation skills

      • Excellent understanding of web technology software development process

      • Excellent understanding of Mobile software technology and development process

      • Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources

      • Bachelor’s degree in a Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Engineering
