SSUSA Job #529: Senior Linux Enterprise Engineer

 Senior Linux Engineer to join an engineering team responsible for design, development and support at a global bank. The servers run on Red Hat Linux with a large scale global deployment.

Responsibilities

Hands on systems administration, hardware configuration activities, and software installation and deployment activities

Write advanced scripts for systems administration and operational tasks for trading engines

 Troubleshoot production issues

Develop automated installation and maintenance solutions for OS and application layer products using Kickstart and other deployment methods (cobbler, Satellite, Enterprise Puppet, etc.) for Red Hat Linux and Windows

Write thorough technical documentation for use by Operation staff

Demonstrate a clear understanding of operations and technical requirements

Performance tuning of software and OS stack

Benchmarking of new hardware for R&D

Advanced scripting (PERL, PHP, Ruby, Bourne)

Responsible for "Proof of Concept" implementations to test new technology. 

Strong understanding of TCP/IP and DNS

Storage configuration skills using standard Linux tools (LVM, 3PAR)

Familiarity with KVM and VMware virtualization

Familiarity with Solarflare, kernel bypass is a plus

Bios tuning and optimization for low latency platforms
