Job Description: The Websphere Application Server Administrator will support implement, manage, and monitor multiple WebSphere environments. Primary responsibilities will include: Design and installation of WebSphere Application Server; Deployment of Enterprise Applications, installation and configuration of new applications; Configuring and modifying application content and proactive monitoring of the health of applications. The Administrator will also be responsible for configuring and managing the security of applications; Optimizing, tuning, troubleshooting of application issues; Provide support to development teams as well as implementing cluster services to perform load balancing and increase availability of the applications. Experience as a WebSphere Administrator, with recent version 7 experience; Experience running on AIX with SSL encryption; Basic understanding of AIX administration, Shell scripting and IHS; Successful track record having completed multiple successful implementations and upgrades of WAS environments; Excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal, and organizational skills are essential. Knowledge of one or more of the following technologies is highly desirable: MQ Series, BMC Patrol, WebSphere KM; Self motivated individual; Ability to work well in groups and independently with minimal supervision to achieve stated goals and project tasks; The candidate should possess a high level of motivation in learning new technologies and software products and reviewing these technologies for enhancements to the current middleware environment.
