REAL ESTATE SYSTEMS MANAGER

One of our New York City based clients is seeking an experienced IT Systems manager specializing in Realpage/Yardi property management software. This person will work closely with our IT, Compliance, and Accounting divisions to direct all system changes, new setups, and OneSite training to make the software a more effective tool. The successful Systems Manager understands that the function of support is to support the teams and that changes to core systems may have far-reaching impacts on the business, as well as employee engagement. In this role, you’ll report to the VP of Financial Planning and Operations, while maintaining a dotted-line reporting relationship with the CIO.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Acts as Realpage/Yardi property management software subject matter expert.
  • Direct software implementation team, responsible for property acquisitions and dispositions.
  • Manage the software training team, responsible for teaching property teams how to use the property management system software to manage their properties; collaborate with the Training team on onboarding.
  • Implement all necessary affordable housing program compliance changes to the system and consider the impact on field teams and property accounting, while minimizing business disruption.
  • Partner with the IT department to ensure system changes are executed within needed timelines and act as an accountability partner as needed; ensure all changes are fully tested to ensure ease of use.
  • Oversee the queue of the systems helpdesk tickets to ensure timely and accurate resolution of issues as they arise. Review incidents and look for the root causes of trending issues to prevent them from happening again.
  • Improve service to field teams by automating routine maintenance.
  • Develop and communicate any process changes that are required by compliance or property accounting that will impact field teams in any way.
  • Collaborate closely with internal Compliance, Accounting, and IT to ensure the system delivers the right information from the property team interface to financial statements.
  • Develop close partnerships with property teams and field leaders to ensure needs are heard and addressed.
  • Implement system best practices for field teams to ensure affordable housing program compliance and prevent fraud, with change execution in partnership with IT.
  • Recommend updates and innovations to the system, in partnership with IT, to make work easier to get done for property teams; create efficiency through automation where possible.
  • Partner on software simplification/consolidation efforts.
  • Effectively manage change efforts and obtain buy-in from senior and field leadership.
  • Partner with the Employee Communications team to drive action and awareness of system updates or changes.
